Hello world!
I know I’ve been super quiet lately, but that’s because my world has been HECTIC! I’ve had a few changes in job roles, where I have been stepping up, and stepping down and sideways; been offered opportunities left right and centre, and today, I finally have a moment to breathe!
We last spoke in October 2024, didn’t we? I was extolling the virtues of saying no, and six months on, I still think that’s probably one of the best life skills you can develop. However, I have also learnt over the past few months to say yes. Say yes even if it’s a little scary, and trust in yourself that you are good enough to step into whatever it is people are asking you to say yes to.
My secondment has come to an end, but not sadly, as I have been offered the role permanently, with the ability to be stepped up when needed, as well as the flexibility to determine my own days at work. The past few months have been really hard work but super rewarding, and the feedback I was given from my teams resulted in me actually being able to admit that I am good at my job, and that I deserved the permanent promotion as well as all the perks and glory that I am enjoying now (hahaha). I’m inclined to note that under “personal growth” and to tell YOU that it is okay to believe that you are worth it, without getting a big head about things.
I know I always commit to being more present here, so this time, I’m not going to say it. I’m just going to try and practice it so that I don’t feel like I have let people down when I can’t.
It’s Mother’s Day here tomorrow in Australia – if you are celebrating, I wish you and your mum or mum figure, a wonderful day filled with food and love.
