Hello reader,
Yes, it has been a while, but it has not been for bad reasons!
I have simply been BUSY. You see, late last year I applied for a new job. Except I did it on the 27th of December, during one of the busiest times at the family business. In addition to that, I had also had the flu for about a month which then turned COVID-19 positive on New Year’s Eve, and everything else is a blur. To add insult to injury, I also managed to fall out of bed the second week of January and give myself a lovely concussion to coincide with my second bout of Long Covid. You could say I have forgotten to write, which would be partially true too!
What has actually happened, is that I got a new job! It is not a marketing/PR job (as I’m finishing this year), but it is in administration in a healthcare setting. The hours are great as I work afternoons only, and it gives me time to do what I need to do during the day as well as manage the admin at the shop. The team are lovely, management easy going and the workload relaxed and the pay is okay for what it is. Admittedly, when they did call for an initial phone interview, I had no idea who they were and barely recalled applying as this time round, I got prescribed Paxlovid when I was COVID-19 positive. I swear the Paxlovid made me even more sick. After the phone interview (on the 6th, I remember it clearly), I went and threw up everything I had eaten since the New Year (which was not much). 15 minutes straight throwing up and I definitely do not look as glamorous as the girls on screen do. I will, however, credit it for stopping my runny nose overnight. I went through two boxes of tissues on New Years Day, and after my first dose that afternoon, my nose just stopped. I was super lucky not the get the rebound infection, and was negative in 5 days but this second bout of COVID-19 felt way more rotten then the first. It was also a catalyst to me getting a booster vaccination a few weeks later (Novavax) of which I am incredibly grateful and fortunate to not have had any adverse reaction to.
So yes, new year, new job, new outlook in life. Two more terms of uni to go (maybe three if I am too overwhelmed) and then I’ll try to figure out the next step in my journey alongside getting my physical, mental and emotional health back on track. You know me, I never ask too much of myself. EVER.
In other more exciting news, Neo boy is almost ONE!!! How time flies! My little baby boy is almost a little dog-man now!

There are no plans to do anything major for his birthday as, my partner tells me, ‘He’s a dog – he won’t know what day it is and he won’t understand.’ That’s not going to stop me from making it special, starting off with a day at the groomers, a visit to the pet store to buy a new toy and an excellent steak for dinner.
That’s it from me today – once things settle down a bit and I get my routine together I’ll be writing more regularly, but for now, the adjustment to my hours is taking a bit of a toll on my chronic fatigue so it’s getting back on track a day at a time.
Stay safe and look after each other!
